CLEAN WATER FOR EVERY FAMILY
WHAT WE DO
At Syria Relief, we're actively involved in projects that empower local communities. These include sustainable well construction, water trucking services in displacement camps, and water station establishments. Currently, we're providing essential materials to support water stations in Northwest Syria, with a goal to serve around 40,000 families, equivalent to approximately 240,000 individuals, daily for six months.
DONATE NOWCLEAN WATER FOR EVERY FAMILY
Water scarcity affects 40% of the world's population, a situation set to worsen as demand outstrips supply. In Syria, conflict has devastated water supply systems, leaving 14.6 million people in desperate need of clean water. Tragically, contaminated water remains a leading cause of death, even though it's preventable. Safe drinking water is a crucial step in breaking the cycle of poverty and illness for vulnerable families.
Our Water and Sanitation Teams are dedicated to serving northwest Syria. We're thrilled to report our latest achievements, impacting an impressive 313,487 individuals through ongoing efforts. Our commitment to clean water access remains unwavering. In our most recent endeavor, we've successfully provided this essential resource to over 284,517 individuals. This accomplishment is thanks to initiatives like constructing 8 elevated water reservoirs, rehabilitating 3 solar-powered stations, and improving water grids covering 3,400 meters.
If you're interested in donating to projects outside of Syria, our parent charity, Action for Humanity, operates across the Middle East, South Asia, and North Africa: https://actionforhumanity.org.
RAYA’S STORY
Raya, a 13-year-old girl, used to grapple with the daily challenge of fetching water twice a day, a common predicament for families in remote areas. Often, the responsibility of collecting water falls on women, adolescent girls, and children, which not only takes a toll on their health but also disrupts children's school attendance.
However, positive change has arrived for Raya and her community with the establishment of our new water station in Northwest Syria. Thanks to the construction of a water well in her area, she no longer needs to make those arduous journeys to fetch water. This accessible water source not only saves time and effort but also reduces the risk of diseases and contamination. Consequently, the overall health of the community has improved, and children are now attending school more regularly.
To extend this positive impact, we are committed to providing accessible drinking water all across Syria. Our ongoing efforts aim to ensure that communities throughout the region can access this vital resource, promoting better health, improved livelihoods, and brighter futures for all
