BUILD A HOME IN SYRIA
Support Our Shelter Projects!
After 11 years of conflict, millions of Syrians are without a home and are trapped in displacement camps where conditions are dire. It is our mission to change this. We’re building new villages inside Syria that provide families with dignity and security. Help us rebuild Syria today.
WHAT WE DO
Through our shelter projects, we're working to provide both short-term and long-term housing solutions for some of the most vulnerable families, especially in the most challenging-to-reach areas of Syria and its neighbouring countries. With your invaluable support, we are actively working towards the creation of new villages within Syria, ensuring that displaced families can regain a sense of dignity and security in their lives.
DONATE NOWSHELTER AND CAMP MANAGEMENT
Over the past 13 years, Syria has experienced an unprecedented wave of displacement. To put it in perspective, 6.2 million individuals have become refugees, and an additional 5.6 million people have been internally displaced. The crisis in Idlib alone led to the displacement of over 1 million people, many of whom had already been uprooted multiple times during this prolonged conflict.
Throughout the sieges in various conflict zones like Aleppo, Homs, Eastern Ghouta, and Dara'a, we've witnessed a recurring scene: thousands of people boarding buses, leaving their homes in search of safety. Often, they found themselves in Idlib, only to face displacement once again.
While each displacement story is unique, a common thread ties them together—they no longer have a place to call home. A staggering 5.3 million Syrians live in inadequate shelters, lacking essential bathing and cooking facilities, adequate space, and protection.
REBUILDING SYRIA
The devastating February earthquakes claimed the lives of over 47,000 people in both Turkey and Syria, leaving more than 1.5 million individuals seeking refuge in temporary shelters. In our recently released report in March 2023, marking 12 years since the onset of the Syrian conflict, Action For Humanity uncovered a disheartening fact: 9 out of 10 people in Northwest Syria, who had already been displaced at least once due to the conflict, were forced to flee once more as a result of the earthquake.
As we embark on Phase 3 of our housing project, we are determined to make a difference. This phase involves the construction of 500 homes for displaced families, each equipped with essential amenities such as a kitchen, sleeping quarters, and a separate living space. Additionally, we will establish a school, a primary health centre, and a place of worship, further contributing to the restoration of hope and stability in the region.
