Qurbani Where It's Needed Most

The Prophet (SWT) said, “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (as). For every hair of the Qurbani you receive a reward from Allah (SWT)."

Eid-al-Adha is almost upon us! It is the time of year when Muslims across the world remember the ever-inspiring story of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the great sacrifices he made to demonstrate his devotion and love for Allah (SWT).

For the last nine years, we have been delivering Qurbani in Syria and the neighbouring regions, distributing fresh meat to thousands of families living in inadequate camps.

Given the challenging circumstance, Qurbani in Syria is never the cheapest option- but a true sacrifice worth its name and purely for the love of Allah (SWT) will never be the easiest option. With the COVID-19 affecting vulnerable families all over the globe, your Qurbani is more important than ever this year. We understand that the month of Dhul Hijjah will be a little different this year and perhaps feel like a harder sacrifice than in the years before but we are still asking you to remember the people of Syria. In these difficult times of global pandemic, the need in Syria has only increased.

Hospitals, schools, homes and families have been destroyed over almost a decade leaving millions without the basic necessities needed to survive. As the conflict continues, millions of families continue to struggle to find food, water, shelter and safety, making it harder to break free from the vicious cycle of poverty.

During this time thousands of families long for the opportunity to feed their loved ones in celebration of Eid-al-Adha. For those who have been displaced multiple times, access to food is difficult enough but access to meat is almost non-existent. The cost of living is at an all-time high in Syria it has never been more difficult to put food on the table. Due to the conflict lines and COVID-19 restrictions, it is harder than ever to get food into areas like Idlib, making eating every day unaffordable for many people. On top of this, military actors are deliberately destroying crops to cause further starvation.

As well as distributing to Syrians inside Syria and displaced in the neighbouring countries, this year we will be distributing Qurbani in Yemen. As one of the world’s leading NGOs in providing support for people impacted by the conflict in Syria, nobody is better placed to provide similar support to the people suffering due to the Yemen crisis. Yemen is currently facing the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Years of conflict has left millions starving. This Qurbani our team will be on the ground delivering your Qurbani where it is needed most.

It is only through your Qurbani donations that vulnerable families can have a joyous Eid and finally have a delicious meal. We guarantee that the gratitude and Du’a of the people of Syria who have suffered so much will make it worth your sacrifice.

Give Qurbani where it is needed most this Eid ul-Adha!
