Maximise your rewards this Ramadan

For Muslims around the world, the holy month of Ramadan is a time for reflection, prayer and absolving oneself of sin. While the focus of Ramadan is on fasting during the hours of sunrise and sunset, it is also about deepening personal connections with Allah (SWT) through prayer and worship.

The last 10 nights of Ramadan are believed to be the most important opportunities for worship during the holiest month in the Islamic calendar. As we enter these last ten nights, remember that any good deeds performed on Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power, are rewarded thousands of times over.

With Syria Relief, it has never been easier to maximise your rewards this Ramadan. Let us take care of your Zakat, Sadaqah and religious duties while you focus on prayer, reflection and making the most of the last ten nights!

Zakat ul-Fitr

Zakat is the most basic form of charity in Islam – which is to be paid on an annual basis – used to help those who are less fortunate within society. Syria Relief delivers aid in some of the most deprived areas in Syria, where we can distribute your Zakat donations.

Right now, we are delivering hygiene kits, non-food items and food baskets to those who are are in need. Syria Relief has a strong and established presence in the heart of Syria, distributing your Zakat donations where they are needed the most.

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

Water supply systems in Syria have been badly affected by the conflict. Displaced and refugee families do not have access to regular clean water. Providing safe, drinking water helps some of the most desperate families to break free from poverty and illness. Water is vital for drinking, cooking, washing and farming. The ability for Syrians to wash their hands is crucial in order for them to fight the coronavirus.

With reliable access to clean water, thousands of Syrian lives could be saved each day. Your donations will help provide clean drinking water to thousands of people daily.

Orphan Support

Syria’s orphaned children did not ask to be born in a crisis, but for many, all they have known is war. Many lives and future generations of families have been lost in this 9-year brutal conflict. Orphans now face a daily battle just to stay alive.

Our Child Protection Teams are on the ground to ensure that the orphans we sponsor are well cared for, psychologically supported, fed, clothed and educated. Our priority is to support orphans in their normal or extended family environment without this support thousands are at risk of exploitation such as child labour, early marriage and other damaging activities.

Food Packs

9 million Syrians require emergency food assistance to meet their basic food needs. 6.5 million people are facing life-threatening food insecurity. Malnutrition not only affects health but also hinders progress in other areas of development such as education and employment.

We are on the ground giving vulnerable families the food they need to survive. Each food pack can feed a family for a month and is high in quality, nutritionally balanced and contain locally sourced staple food such as lentils, rice, pasta, vegetables.
