Here at Syria Relief we have an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Junior Graphic Designer to join our team based in Salford, Greater Manchester. You will join us on a part-time basis (3 days a week) as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £18k - £21k pro rata (£10.8k – 12.6k per annum).

As our Junior Graphic Designer, the successful candidate will be part of the Marketing & Communications Team, and work on internal design requests. The graphic designer role requires a skilled and confident individual who will take assistant on content creation for the charity. They should display confidence and have the capability to create exciting and engaging high quality content, design print material, promotional material and digital assets. Additionally, the role requires the individual to work within the marketing and media team to create and develop marketing content.

Key responsibilities of the Junior Graphic Designer:

  • -Support the design and production of unique and interesting artwork for both digital and print
  • -Collaborate and give creative support through marketing campaign
  • -Work with other departments to create internal and external communications documents.
  • -Ensure all marketing material and copy is compliant and adheres to Action For Humanity and Syria Relief’s brand, values and vision
  • -To support in the creation of assets for the organisations rebrand.
  • -Keen to learn more about the NGO/ charity sector and have training in organisational development.
  • -To continue to develop confidence in presenting/ pitching content.
  • -To support the design of print materials and digital products for programmes and fundraising
  • -To support brand strategy and provide creative concepts and designs for different campaigns.

What we’re looking for in our Junior Graphic Designer:

  • -Degree / HND or experience in relevant field i.e., Graphic Design  
  • -Proven experience in all aspects of graphic content (print marketing, corporate materials, promotional materials, digital assets)  
  • -Software experience, e.g., Adobe (InDesign, illustrator, Photoshop, premiere pro, acrobat)
  • -Project and time management  
  • -1x Year Charity Experience (Desirable)
  • -Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • -Excellent analytical and interpretive ability
  • -Identify powerful human-interest stories which highlight the charity’s work
  • -Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/ Photoshop)
  • -Team player with a positive, can-do attitude; comfortable with continuously changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • -Communicate complex projects within demanding deadlines
  • -Good understanding of online and print design 
  • -Basic knowledge of HTML (Desirable)
  • -Strong written and spoken English
