OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

HRA & FM role requires an experienced HR Administrator, with excellent; IT, organisation skills and a good working knowledge of HR data base and processes, to join our small team. You will have proven experience of: recruitment, processing starters and leavers, maintaining personnel files, payroll and benefits administration, production of workforce reports and employment law. General knowledge of employer health and safety legislation and experience of co-ordinating H&S activities in the workplace. A sociable, friendly and flexible approach, demonstrable care for delivering an excellent service and a keen eye for detail are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To assist the CEO and Senior Management to ensure the smooth delivery of HR operations. You will be primarily responsible for HR administration, e.g. running recruitment campaigns, maintaining employee records, employee correspondence, payroll and benefits. However, as a stand-a-lone, you will also have opportunities get involved with casework and transformational HR projects (e.g. employee engagement, flexibility) to aid your career development. You will also support the HOO in co-ordinating visits, inspections and service appointments from contractors and those who service, maintain and support our site facilities

  • Support Strategic direction and business development:
  • Input into the strategic development of the charity
  • Working with the CEO, board and executive team to develop and implement the charity’s strategic plan
  • Support the implementation of the annual plan providing support on resourcing issues, including operations, ICT, income generation, property management and HR
  • Developing the team’s annual work plan and monitoring progress against targets throughout the year
  • Ensure that the Board of Trustees is provided with all the necessary management information
  • Ensure that charity complies with its legal obligations as a charity, including obligations relating to any regulatory frameworks
  • With CEO manage risk

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 Generalist HR

 HR online systems

 Payroll – basic understanding of HMRC and NI

 Pension – knowledge of legislation and enrolment

Leadership Skills:

To promote Syria Relief’s vision and mission and to uphold the Charity’s values in all day to-day activities and delivery of services.

 To contribute to the Charity’s objectives, Risk Register and Assurance Framework.

 To ensure that Syria Relief develops a culture that promotes equality and diversity and that the service you provide meets the needs of all stakeholders. This may involve the development and monitoring of policies and procedures to ensure the services you provide are inclusive to all.

 To participate in Syria Relief related events as and when required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent legislation, the post holder is required to undertake a proactive role in the management of risks in all their actions; this includes:-

 Undertaking risk assessments in line with the Syria Relief risk assessment process

 Reporting all incidents, near-misses and hazards in line with the Syria Relief’s reporting arrangements and systems

 Undertaking a statutory duty of care for your own personal safety and that of others

 Attending all statutory and mandatory health and safety training, appropriate to the role.
